"Pro SQL Server Disaster Recovery"

???
Avoid uttering the word ???project,??? and use the term ???job role??? until you??™re blue in the face.
Never use buzzronyms, whether spoken in meetings or written within documentation.
It can be easy to fall into the temptation of abbreviating disaster recovery planning.
Notice how I make a concerted effort to always use the full spelling rather than the acronym?
(My mother, who was a high school English and grammar teacher??”yes, I had my
mom as a teacher one year in high school??”would chastise me for being so repetitive in
my writing.)
Another key to establishing the job-role concept is to embrace it personally. Assume
that it is one of your job roles, and encourage others to personally embrace it as well.
Roadblock: Ineffective Discovery Process
From my consulting experience, I??™ve found that simply asking people what they need or
what they have is rarely a sufficient means of discovering information. Discovery is no
different when working internally.
Description of the Roadblock
Have you implemented some sort of technology or process only to have someone come
to you afterward and say, ???But what do we do when we want this???? Personally, I find
nothing more frustrating than surprise requirements that crop up after a technology or
application has been completed.
