Your Team
The key to raising awareness within your own team is to start with informal discussions
(sometimes on a one-on-one basis). The idea is to plant seeds so that when the topic
comes up formally, everyone already has been introduced to the idea of disaster recovery
planning.
Never make the mistake of trying to present this as ???your??? idea, even if that??™s the case.
It may then appear that you??™re looking to just boost your own value in the company or
climb the corporate ladder. Even if you head the charge, try to give the impression that
this is a group effort (ultimately, it should be).
Your Peers
This is a tricky situation, because no one likes someone poking around or questioning
what he does. Again, informal discussion prior to any formal introduction to disaster
recovery planning is extremely helpful.
