"Pro SQL Server Disaster Recovery"

You have to learn to minimize the impact of the requests.
Keep the subject of any given activity very focused. When working on disaster recovery,
you might create very specific steps, such as backup/recovery planning and specific
mitigation techniques. An iterative approach is useful. Try to keep holists focused on the
individual steps of planning, and hide the larger picture from them. However, this won??™t
always work, because holists tend to seek out the big picture.
You can also allow input from individuals with peripheral information related to a
specific activity, but in a way that requires as little of their time as possible. Send the
request for information via e-mail, or simply ask a question in passing. Of course, this
is difficult to do if the holist is playing the role of project manager. That??™s where lengthy
meetings come in.
The Pacifist
Having a rational argument can be one of the most productive activities in a group
atmosphere. You learn a lot when two people who don??™t agree start debating an idea.
Pacifists, however, view confrontation of any kind as counterproductive.
