In an effort to make sure that everything and everyone
is involved in the process, they can take a task that requires the input of two or three individuals
and turn it into a massive project involving dozens of members with applicable
yet marginally useful input. They take something that should last no longer than 15 minutes
and turn it into a multiweek project.
What Is Valued?
Holists mean no harm; in fact, they want nothing more than to see things succeed. The
fact that they ultimately end up lengthening the disaster recovery process is just an
unfortunate side effect of eager participation.
Holists don??™t intend to complicate things or make activities overly complex. They
sincerely want everyone to be successful. However, they believe that the key to success
is ensuring that everyone who might have valid input about any given activity is given

the opportunity to provide that input. This means not only taking the time to collect that
input, but also taking the time to identify who may have that input (as well as convincing
those people to share it).
