What Problems Does This Create?
Territorialists are one of the few personality types that tend to rub people the wrong way.
No one wants to be told they??™re wrong, especially in public and by someone who places
himself above question. Mostly due to the directness of their nature, territorialists tend
to be viewed as arrogant and abrasive, which is unfortunate.
Although rare, territorialists may think they know more about a particular subject
than they actually do. This can be especially damaging if it happens on a large project
with multiple representatives from the same technical or business area involved. Territorialists
can also unintentionally cause discontent with the people involved in the process.

Their confidence implies a certain level of inflexibility. Their attitude implies that their
word is scripture.
How Do You Deal with These Problems?
The first step to minimizing the potential distractions generated by territorialists is to
restrict their participation in disaster recovery planning. Include only one territorialist
per technical or functional area.
