"Pro SQL Server Disaster Recovery"

I would only consider USB 2.0 or FireWire for
locally attached storage. The original specifications for USB 1.0 or 1.1 are just too slow to
use effectively for read/write data access.
nTip Don??™t be quick to rule out simplistic approaches to solving any problem. Often, the most basic
approach is the most effective. Resist the urge to have the ???cool??? technology. Having a cool technology
solution to a problem isn??™t impressive to executive management, who only cares that a solution works
and has the lowest cost possible.
RAID Configurations
Back in the day, RAID was a server-only feature, and an optional one at that. These days,
no one would even dream of putting a server into production with a single hard disk.
RAID configurations are now becoming commonplace even in desktop PCs.
You have a variety of RAID configurations to choose from, each with its own benefits
and drawbacks. Some RAID specifications have essentially disappeared (RAID 2, 3, and
4), while new specifications have appeared as RAID itself has matured and evolved.
RAID 0
RAID 0 refers to simply taking a group of disks and striping data across them.
