"Practical Data Analysis and Reporting with BIRT"

12. Change the Type to Text. The error is caused by BIRT changing the axis
data type to the data type of the column used by default. In our case, it
automatically changed to DateTime. Go back to the Select Data tab when
this is done.
13. For the Optional (Y) Series Grouping, drag in the Name column.
14. Next to the Category (X) Series expression editor button is a button to edit
Group and Sorting. Click on that button. In the following screenshot, you can
see the Edit group and sorting hint next to the button.

15. For Data Sorting, enter Ascending. Click on the Enabled checkbox under
Grouping. Set the Interval to 0 and click OK. This will set the interval in
which items are grouped in the chart. If you do not set this to 0, items in the
total aggregation will be skipped and not reflected in the chart.
16. Click Finish and Save the report.
17. Select the Table, and create a Group on EmployeeNumber.
18. Create second Group on OrderDate called SalesDateGroup. For the Detail
Row, drag over the ProductName into the second column, and PriceEach
into the third column.
