Name the component as countEmployees. Change the Function to Count,
and set the Aggregate On to Group|groupByOffice.
14. This pretty much finishes up the functional part of the report. Now we need
to format it just a little. Select the Group Header Row.
15. In the Property Editor, under the General tab, change the Background color
to Black.
16. Click on the Font tab. Change the Font Color to White, and bold the text.
17. Select the Group Footer Row.
18. In the Property Editor, under the General tab, change the Background color
to Silver.

19. Save, and Preview the Report.
In the preview just shown, we can see that the Aggregate component (using
the Count function) counts the number of Employees based on the Grouping of
OFFICECODE. BIRT supports Aggregate functions such as Sum, Count, Min, Max,
Running Sums and Counts, Average, Standard Deviation, and a number of others.
Table of Contents
Anytime you create a Group on a Table or List, it creates a Table of Contents. A Table
of Contents is a convenient way to jump to a particular part of a report when using
a Web Viewer. Using the previous example, you can view the report by going to
File|View Report|View Report in Web Viewer.

When the Report Viewer is open, you can click on the TOC icon on the upper left
corner to bring up the Table of Contents.
