The Undo History palette tracks the
last 20 steps you performed. If you??™re not satisfied with
any of your edits, you can undo all steps by choosing
Edit | Revert. If your system has enough resources,
you can change the number of steps to a higher value
by changing the History States value
in the General Preferences dialog
box (press CTRL+K in Windows or
COMMAND+K in Macintosh).

1. Open the image you want to retouch.
2. Examine the image and decide which areas you are going to retouch. The portrait to
the right could stand some retouching
around the eyes and the chin. To
retouch areas such as crow??™s feet and
lines under the eyes, the Healing Brush
is the tool of choice.
3. Drag the background layer to the
Create A New Layer icon in the Layers
palette.
4. Select the Healing Brush tool.
5. Select the Zoom tool, and zoom in on
the area you??™re retouching.
6. Hold down the ALT key (Windows) or
the OPTION key (Macintosh), and click
an area of unblemished skin that closely
matches the texture of the area you??™re
retouching.
7. Resize the tip of the Healing Brush tool
so that it??™s slightly larger than the area
you??™re retouching.
