Retouch a Portrait
Digital cameras and modern lenses record every detail in
an image. This is a good thing when you??™re photographing
landscapes, but not so good when you??™re photographing
someone with facial flaws, such as crow??™s feet. You can remove
or reduce these features by implementing some techniques
used by fashion and glamour photographers. Photoshop
Elements has two wonderful tools for retouching images: the
Healing Brush tool and the Spot Healing Brush tool.
QUICKFACTS
UNDERSTANDING THE UNDO
HISTORY PALETTE
When you edit an image in Photoshop Elements,
the application remembers the last 20 steps you??™ve
applied to the image. You can undo the last step by
choosing Edit | Undo. You can undo additional steps
by continuing to choose Edit | Undo, or redo the last
undone step by choosing Edit | Redo. You can also
manually select a step from within the Undo History
palette. To access the Undo History palette (shown in the
following illustration), choose Window | Undo History.
In the Undo History palette, you can step backward and
forward by dragging the right-pointing arrow on the left
side of the palette or by clicking a History state. You can
delete a selected step and all steps that were applied
after it by selecting the step and then choosing Delete
from the More menu.
