6. Drag inside the selection to clone out the offending object.
7. Choose Select | Deselect to remove the selection. The following illustration shows
the previous photograph after the light poles have been cloned out of the yellow
hot-rod??™s roof.
TIP
When you need maximum working space, press the TAB
key to hide all palettes and tools that are floating in the
workspace. When you do this, the currently selected
tool is still active. Press the TAB key again to reveal the
palettes and tools.

13. Select the Vignette layer, and drag the Opacity
slider to 85 percent. Choose a higher value to
reveal less of the underlying layer; choose a
smaller value to reveal more. To see the effect
the opacity has, click the eyeball icon on the
background layer to momentarily hide the layer.
14. Choose Select | Deselect to remove the selection.
15. Click the More button in the Layers palette, and
from the Layers menu, choose Flatten Image.
This command flattens all the layers into the
background layer in the image. Alternatively, you
can choose Layer |
Flatten Image. This
step is not necessary
if you??™re saving the
file as a Photoshop
*PSD file and you
want the ability to
edit layers at a future
date.
