Select a Blending
Mode
1. Select the layer whose blending
mode you want to change.
2. Click the down arrow to the right of
the currently selected blend mode to
reveal the Blend Mode drop-down list.
3. Click the desired blend mode to
apply it.
Vary Layer Opacity
1. Select the layer whose opacity you
want to change.
2. Click the down arrow to the right of the
current layer opacity (100 percent, by
default) to reveal the Opacity slider.
Alternatively, you can move your
cursor over the word ???Opacity.??? When
your cursor becomes a pointing finger
with a horizontal two-headed arrow,
drag left to decrease opacity or drag to
the right to increase opacity.
3. Drag the slider to change the layer
opacity.
4. Release the slider when the desired opacity has been achieved. Alternatively, you can
type a value in the Opacity text field.
Use Adjustment Layers
You use adjustment layers to modify the image. The beauty of adjustment layers
is that the original image is unchanged. The adjustment layer is pure mathematics
that is applied to the image without changing the underlying layer.
