5. To modify the crop marquee, do one of the following:
??? Drag a handle at any corner to resize the width and height of the crop marquee.
Hold down the SHIFT key while dragging to resize the crop marquee proportionately.
??? Drag a handle in the middle of the right or left side to resize the width of the crop
marquee.
??? Drag a handle at the top or bottom to resize the height of the crop marquee.
??? Click inside the crop marquee, and drag to change its position.
6. Press ENTER or RETURN to crop the image. Alternatively, you can click the Commit
button (it looks like a check mark) on the border of the crop marquee.
Resize Images
When you resize an image, you are resampling it. In other words, Photoshop
Elements is taking all of the image data and redrawing the pixels so that the
image is the desired size. When you choose a smaller size, Photoshop Elements
does an admirable job of resizing the image. However, when you ask the
application to increase the size of the image, Photoshop Elements increases the

If the crop marquee is not the correct size, click the
Cancel button below it to start over.
TIP
You can also crop an image with the Rectangular
Marquee tool. Make a selection using the tool that
defines the area you want to crop from the image, and
then select Image | Crop.
