You specify the sensitivity of the tool and the distance from your
cursor used to detect the edge.
1. Select the Magnetic Lasso tool.
2. In the options bar which can be found below the Photoshop Elements toolbar, set the
following parameters:
??? Type a value between 0 and 250 in the Feather field. This setting determines how
much feathering Photoshop Elements applies to the selection. When you feather
a selection, you determine how soft the edge of the selection will be. The default
value of 0 produces a hard-edged selection, while higher values gradually blend the
selection into the surrounding pixels.
??? Accept the default Anti-Aliasing option. Anti-aliasing smoothes the edge of the selection.
??? Type a value between 1 and 40 in the Width field. This setting determines how far
from your current cursor position Photoshop Elements will search for different color
pixels.
??? Type a value between 1 and 100 in the Edge Contrast field. High values detect
edges that contrast sharply from surrounding pixels, while low values detect edges
with lower contrast edges.
??? Type a value between 0 and 100 in the Frequency field. This determines how
quickly Photoshop Elements adds points as you move your cursor over an edge.
