As you drag the slider, you??™ll see the changes in your image, provided the
Preview check box is selected.
4. Drag the Contrast slider to the right to increase contrast; drag to the left to decrease
contrast.
5. Click OK to apply the change.
Adjust Lighting
When your digital camera??™s firmware (a set of instructions programmed into
camera memory that determines how the camera processes images) does
everything right, it??™s a wonderful thing. It??™s also a wonderful thing when the

To add some sparkle to a slightly washed-out image,
choose the Brightness/Contrast command. Drag the
Contrast slider a small increment to the right, and then
drag the Brightness slider a small increment to the left.
Tweak each slider until the image has the contrast and
sparkle you seek.

just what to do when encountering a situation where the camera may not be
able to compensate for a difficult situation, like a bright sky in the background
or heavy shadow. If either scenario fails, the photographer (that would be you)
still has options to change lighting by using the Photoshop Elements Shadows/
Highlight command.
