You can sharpen
images in Photoshop Elements using several different commands. However, the
best choice for sharpening an image is the Adjust Sharpness command, which

increases the contrast of edges in your image and
makes the images look notably sharper.
1. Open the image you want to sharpen.
2. Choose Enhance | Adjust Sharpness to open the
Adjust Sharpness dialog box, as shown here.
3. Drag the Amount slider to the right to determine the
percentage of sharpening Photoshop Elements will
apply to the image. Typically, a value between 100
and 150 percent works well for a large high-resolution
image (8 inches by 10 inches and larger at 300 dpi)
you plan on printing, and a value between 45 and 100
works well for a low-resolution image for monitor or
Web site viewing. As you drag the slider, you can see
what the sharpened image will look like in the Preview
area, as well as in the actual image itself, if the Preview
check box is selected.
