On a Macintosh, the default action is
to launch iPhoto and edit the images.
If you??™re working with Photoshop
Elements or another image-editing
application, clear that option in iPhoto
preferences??”the Macintosh operating
system will mount the card reader
as a removable hard drive. If you
have Photoshop Elements installed
on a computer running Windows, the
Adobe Photo Downloader launches.
You can disable this by changing the
camera or card reader preferences in
the Photoshop Elements Organizer
workspace.
4. Select all of the images.
5. Drag the images from the folder (Windows) or removable hard drive (Macintosh) to the
folder you created in step 1.
TIP
If you use an application??™s photo downloader, you may have
an option to delete images from your memory card after the
download is finished. It is recommended that you not accept
this option and format the card instead in your camera.
Keeping the images on the card is also insurance in case
the images did not download properly to your computer.
TIP
With the Windows operating system, you need to safely
remove the device from your system by clicking the Safely
Remove Hardware button in the system tray, and then
selecting your camera from the list of devices connected
to your system.
