TIP
If you??™re photographing a night scene, switch to
landscape or infinity mode. If your camera has aperture
priority mode, choose a small aperture (high f-stop
number). The resulting exposure will be longer, but more
of the scene will be in focus.
TIP
Instead of using auto-timer mode, you can purchase
a remote switch, which enables you to trip the shutter
button without touching the camera. Contact your local
camera store to see if this accessory is available for your
camera.

Improvise to Capture
the Moment
Photography is rewarding, but it can also be a challenge, especially when
you??™re far away from home or photographing in a public place such as a
museum. When you??™re on vacation, you need to pack light, which means
that goodies such as your tripod, off-camera flash, and other equipment
that won??™t fit in your luggage are left languishing at home in the closet.
When you??™re photographing in a museum, flash is often not allowed,
as the intense light will damage the old paintings and other artwork.
