COPING WITH ADVERSE LIGHTING
When you photograph in adverse conditions, you??™re
generally dealing with adverse lighting conditions as well.
This can be anything from dealing with lighting that is
uneven, low lighting, or heavy shade. The following list
shows some remedies for adverse lighting:
??? Use fill-flash to fill in shadow when photographing
in heavy shade or when the subject is backlit.
??? Use a reflector to bounce light back into the
shadow side of a subject??™s face.
??? Increase the ISO setting to achieve a higher
shutter speed.
??? Use a tripod or monopod to steady the camera
when photographing at slow shutter speeds in
low-light situations.
??? When you use a tripod to photograph a low-light
scene, use the camera auto-timer to avoid camera
movement when you press the shutter button.
Alternatively, use a camera remote switch to
trigger the shutter without touching the camera.
??? Use your car headlights to add additional light
when photographing in low-light situations.
