ADDING PERSPECTIVE TO A
PHOTOGRAPH (Continued)
4. If possible, get a tall person walking
across the road as you shoot the
picture. This will help enhance the
feeling of perspective, especially if you
shoot the photograph from a kneeling
position.
5. Take the picture. This image shows a
street scene in San Francisco??™s North
Beach. The sloping roofline of the
building on the right adds a sense of
perspective and draws the viewer??™s
eye to the man strolling down the
sidewalk.
TIP
When photographing perspective, take the picture
from a kneeling position or get closer to the ground to
exaggerate the height of the buildings.
TIP
A viewer??™s attention is always drawn toward the brightest
element in the scene.
TIP
When you photograph an individual from a bird??™s-eye
view, make sure you??™re far enough away from the subject
that you don??™t have to zoom out or use a wide-angle lens,
which will distort the person??™s features.
