After you photograph a
scene with a monopod attached to your camera, collapse
the extension tubes and tighten the locking collars before
moving to another location. Alternatively, unloosen the
mounting screw and take the camera off your monopod.

Capture Images of the Sporting Event
The type of event you??™re attending determines what vantage points and access
you??™ll have to shoot photographs. If you??™re attending a stadium event, you??™ll be
somewhat hampered by other spectators. However, if it is possible to leave your
seat during the event, you can take pictures from different vantage points.
1. Photograph the start of the event. For example, if you??™re photographing a basketball
game, zoom in and take a photograph of the tip-off. If you??™re photographing a football
game, take a wide-angle shot of the opening kick-off, capturing the image a second or
so after the ball leaves the kicker??™s foot.
2. Switch to continuous shooting mode, if your camera is so equipped. This enables you
to take a sequence of images when the action gets hot and heavy; for example, when
a soccer player rushes towards a one-on-one with the goalie.
