"Digital Photography QuickSteps, 2nd Edition"

Keep your finger poised on the shutter button, and click it when you see
something you like. And if someone asks you not to take their picture, respect
the person and do as they request.
Capture Digital Images of Friends and Family
1. Compose your picture, remembering to place the main subject at a point of interest.
For more information on composing images, refer to Chapter 3.
2. Choose an interesting vantage point. For example, when photographing a young
child, position the child on a chair so that you??™re photographing from the same level or
slightly lower than the child.
3. Avoid taking photographs of people when they??™re eating.
4. When photographing an event, such as a wedding or birthday, take several shots to
capture the range of emotions.
5. When at an informal event, such as a party, keep on the move and take photos from
several vantage points.
6. Avoid distracting backgrounds. Your friends and family are the stars of your images.
7. When taking a picture of two people, zoom in tight and compose the picture so that the
subjects??™ heads are aligned with points of interest (the Rule of Thirds).
TIP
Some people do not want their photographs taken. If
someone asks you to delete the picture, delete it.
