Mount your camera on a tripod. Alternatively, you can take the picture holding the
camera, in which case, you??™ll get a sharp image of your subject, but the background
will be soft and somewhat blurry due to camera movement after the flash fires.
2. Switch to one of your camera??™s creative modes (see Chapter 2).
3. Access your camera menu, and choose the option for slow-synch flash. With some
cameras, you may have to choose this option from a camera dial. Refer to your
camera manual for further information
4. Enable the camera flash.
5. Compose the picture.
6. Tell your subject to remain perfectly still while the camera records the picture.
7. Press the shutter button halfway. This focuses the scene and causes the flash unit to
fire. This initial firing of the flash is used by your camera to compute the amount of light
the flash adds to the scene. Your camera may show a message while it computes how
long the shutter must remain open to faithfully record the background.
8. Press the shutter button fully to record the image.
Use Second Curtain Shutter
