If your camera is capable of shooting close-ups, photograph
flowers in the early morning. The dewdrops add compelling highlights to
your pictures. If you get a bit of digital noise, it will add to the effect. Just
make sure to protect your digital camera when photographing in inclement
conditions.
Create Dreamy Images
1. Shoot images in cloudy and overcast conditions to capture images like the one in
Figure 3-10.

UICKSTEPS
CREATING FOG
If you??™re faced with harsh conditions such as bright noon
sun that creates unflattering shadows or the lighting isn??™t
perfect, you can quickly transform conditions by creating
fog. If the air is humid enough, simply blow a few breaths
onto the glass portion of the camera lens. Wait a second
or two for the mist to dissipate, and then take your
picture. This technique works with all digital cameras.
However, you??™ll be able to judge exactly how fogged over
your lens is if you own a digital SLR or a digital camera
that has an electronic through-the-lens viewfinder. If you
own a simple point-and-shoot digital camera, breathe on
the lens and watch the LCD monitor to determine how
misted over the lens is.
