Unless you have a reason for including the sun in
the picture, shoot with your back to the sun, and try to avoid getting your
shadow in the picture.
Shoot Images at the Right Time of Day
1. Shoot images in morning light to get images like Figure 3-8.
2. Shoot images in the late afternoon to get images similar to Figure 3-9.
Figure 3-7: Use camera menu
commands to bracket exposures.
TIP
With most digital cameras, when you use auto-exposure
bracketing, you have to enable either the continuous
or continuous drive option, which enables you to take
multiple pictures while the shutter button is pressed.
The number of images you can capture per second will
be determined by how sophisticated your camera is and
the image quality you choose.
Figure 3-8: Morning light has subtle pastel shades.

Take Advantage of Atmospheric
Conditions
You can also get wonderful pictures when you might think you??™d be better
off leaving your camera at home. That is, you can take advantage of the soft
diffuse light when it??™s foggy, misty, or overcast to capture some interesting
images, although you??™ll have to shoot at a higher ISO rating because of
the low light.
