The settings
for cameras differ. Some cameras have settings that show the number of f-stops.
Choosing a setting of 1 changes the EV of the image by one f-stop. Refer to your
camera manual for additional information. Auto-exposure bracketing ensures
that one of the images will be properly exposed. When you download the images
to your computer, you can save the image that suits your needs and discard the
others.
Hedge Your Bets with
Auto-Exposure Bracketing
1. Access your camera menu.
2. Choose the Auto-Exposure Bracketing option. Figure 3-7 shows the auto-exposure
bracketing menu for a Canon digital SLR.
3. Set the amount you want the bracketed images to be underexposed and overexposed.
Refer to your camera manual for detailed instructions.
4. Close the camera menu, and shoot the desired images.
Capture Images in Perfect Light
If you??™ve ever looked at a photograph and been taken in by its beauty,
you??™ll probably notice it has warm tones. Those tones are best captured
when you photograph your images in the morning or late afternoon.
During the middle of the day, the sun shines down from overhead. The
light is direct and harsh, and doesn??™t cast flattering shadows on the
subjects in your scene.
