This can lead to distortion,
because parallel lines will appear to converge, as shown in Figure 3-4. To avoid
distortion, it??™s best to back away from the building and then zoom in to get the
desired composition, as shown in Figure 3-5.
Choose the Right Focal Length
1. Examine the scene through the viewfinder or LCD monitor.
2. As you preview the scene, pay attention to vertical lines. If they appear to be
converging in the viewfinder, back away from the scene.
TIP
In low lighting conditions, your camera may have a hard
time establishing focus. Aiming a small penlight at your
center of interest will help the camera establish focus on
that part of the scene.
