"Digital Photography QuickSteps, 2nd Edition"

If you
don??™t have spare memory cards or a device to download
the images to, your memory card may run out of room.
You can conserve space on your memory card by
choosing a smaller image size and lower quality for the
images you??™ll share via e-mail, because they don??™t need
the same high resolution as images you??™ll print. You can
also gain additional space on a memory card by deleting
unwanted images. However, deleting images does sap
battery power. Some digital cameras are notoriously
hard on batteries, so delete images with caution. Delete
unwanted images only if you have a spare battery on
hand, or if you have plenty of power left in the camera
battery.
CONSERVE YOUR MEMORY CARD
1. Monitor the number of images you??™ll be able to
save to your memory card. Digital cameras have
some means of displaying the number of images
captured and the remaining number of images
that can be saved to the card. Refer to your
camera manual for further information.
2. Press the camera menu button.
3. Navigate to the image size and quality section of
your menu.
4. Choose a smaller image size and quality.

Evaluative,

Multipattern metering (also called evaluative
or matrix metering) is a good choice for
many shots, and may be suitable for backlit
subjects if the light source does not put
the subject in heavy shade.
