After all, most of them are small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. However,
if you own a high-end digital camera or a digital SLR, you??™ll need space to store
the camera and your accessories. A case also serves as protection when the
weather is inclement.
When you purchase a case for your camera, choose one that is large enough
for the camera and the accessories you now own, as well as for accessories that
you are considering purchasing in the near future. You can purchase a camera
case from a well-stocked retail outlet, a camera store, or an online camera store.
Some camera cases are customizable, with removable partitions that attach to
the case with Velcro. Lowepro (www.lowepro.com) is one manufacturer that
offers a wide range of camera bags, from those that will fit the smallest pointand-
shoot camera to those that house a digital SLR, complete with accessories
and lenses. Many of the Lowepro bags have waterproof covers.
Figure 1-7 shows examples of Lowepro camera bags for digital
cameras.
Choose a Tripod
Most point-and-shoot digital cameras feature a tripod thread, and
all high-end, zoom-lens reflex and digital SLR cameras have one.
This enables you to secure the camera to a tripod.
