"Ajax in Oracle JDeveloper"

10.2 Setting the Environment for Google Search
Before we may start using the Google Ajax Search API we need to create a
web application and register the URL of the web application with the
Google Ajax Search. Create a JDeveloper application and project with
File>New. In the New Gallery window select General in Categories and
Application in Items and click on OK. Add a JSP, ajaxsearch.jsp, to the
JDeveloper project with File>New. In the New Gallery window select
Web Tier>JSP in Categories and JSP in Items and click on OK. In the
Create JSP window specify a file name and click on OK. The directory
structure of the Google Search application is shown in Fig. 10.1.

To obtain the URL for the ajaxsearch.jsp JSP right-click on the JSP
and select Run. The URL for the ajaxsearch.jsp JSP is
http://127.0.0.1:8988/GoogleAjax-GoogleAjaxcontext-
root/. Next, we shall register the URL with Google Ajax
Search. In the Sign-up for an AJAX Search API key page (
http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/signup.html) specify the web
application URL in the My web site URL field, and click on Generate
API Key button as shown in Fig. 10.2.
