"Ajax in Oracle JDeveloper"

As the reader has learnt, DWR
can be used to generate JavaScript that corresponds to Java class methods
that provide a useful callback feature, which takes advantage of Ajax to
return data from the server and update web pages with the server's
response. DWR may be integrated with other technologies such as Struts,
Spring, JavaServer Faces, and Hibernate. A limitation of DWR is that the
server-side application is required to be Java based. According to the
Ajaxian.com6 survey, DWR is used by about 12 percent of Ajax
developers.

6 Ajax without JavaScript ??“ AjaxTags
6.1 Introduction
Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) is a web technique used to
transfer data between a client script running on a web page and a server
without posting the web page to the server. In a chap. 1 we developed an
Ajax application to validate a form as data is added to the form. An
XMLHttpRequest object is used to send an HTTP request from a web
page JavaScript and process the HTTP response from the server. If the
reader is not familiar with JavaScript and would rather have a predefined
JSP tag library provide the Ajax functionality, AjaxTags would be well
suited to the reader??™s Ajax application requirements. AjaxTags is a JSP tag
library for implementing the Ajax web technique in a JSP page. JavaScript
code to create an XMLHttpRequest object, send a request and process
the response is not required, because the Ajax web technique is
implemented by AjaxTags.
