Besides the above-mentioned benefits of power consumption when the UE is in CPC mode, there
are also some disadvantages to consider. Particularly, when the UE transmission is silenced the uplink
TPC commands are not transmitted which has an overall effect on the closed loop power control
behavior. While the UE is operating in CPC mode the NodeB should provide more information on the
parameters rather than the RNC in order to reduce system latency.
