The S-CCPCH will carry the MCCH channel. The MCCH information will be transmitted periodically
using a reception interval. Changes to the MCCH can occur on the first MCCH transmission
of the modification interval. UEs are notified about the changes by the MBMS notification indicators,
MICH. The modification interval will be long enough so that UEs begin to access the MCCH at the
beginning of the next modification interval. Once the MICH is detected, the UE begins to access the
MCCH at the beginning of the next modification interval. The p-t-m data will be sent to the UE via
the MTCH channel. The MSCH channel is used to convey the MBMS transmission schedule between
the network and the UE. When the p-t-m service is active, the UE should periodically monitor the
MCCH channel, which may be on a different S-CCPCH than the one carrying MTCH,
The channel mapping is provided in Fig. 9.14.

For this particular MBMS service the UE capabilities will play a key role in not only supporting
system performance, but also providing product differentiation.
