These results show the tremendous performance gain in using the LMMSE equalizer over the
RAKE receiver. Hence additional performance requirements were defined for UE supporting this
feature.
Next we attempt to show the benefits of using a spatial diversity receiver and performing a joint
LMMSE equalizer across both receive antennas (Type 3) (see Fig. 7.140).
