31 Summary of some measured indoor delay spread values.
We have named the two groups shown in Fig. 3.31 as ???a??? and ???b.??? The maximum RMS delay
spread for groups ???a??? and ???b??? are 40 nsec and 135 nsec, respectively.
In Fig. 3.31 we have labeled the curves with the following legend indicating the country where
the measurements were performed and the carrier frequency: (a) UK, 5 GHz; (b) UK, 17 GHz
[24, 57, 58, 59]; (c) USA, 1.3 GHz/4 GHz; (d) USA, 1.3 GHz [60]; (e) Netherlands, 11.5 GHz;
(f) Japan, 60 GHz [61]; (g) Singapore, 56 GHz [62, 63]; (h) UK, 19.37 GHz; (i) Canada,
37.2 GHz; (j) Canada, 893 MHz [23, 64??“66]; (k) China, 900 MHz [67]; (l) Canada, 40 GHz.
In order to make the figures more legible, we have decided to separate the curves into two plots to
emphasize the point (see Figs. 3.32 and 3.33). The first plot is shown below, here it is clear that two significant
families exist. The worse case mean delay spread is approximately 40 nsec (CBW 398 MHz).
These measured results correspond to measurement campaigns conducted in the UK, USA, Japan,
Singapore, Canada, and China regions.
This second plot also shows two families present. Here the maximum delay spread value increased
to approximately 135 nsec (CBW 1.
